Alla was a beaming, glowing bride and Ross was making everyone laugh the whole day. This wedding was smooth as silk. It was full of joy, sunshine, sandy beaches and gorgeous weather. It was my first destination wedding and I couldn't have been more blessed to photograph it along side my best friend and second shooter Molly Edwards. Here are just a few of my favorites!
I met Sara and Chris at Carson-Newman University where I went to school a couple years ago. When she contacted me over the summer to come photograph her family in Georgia my heart couldn't have been more happy. My immediate response, "Yes!!!" I loved being up to catch up with you guys and photographing your cute little family. I can't wait to see Charlotte! I hope you all enjoy these photos. Jess was a good friend of mine from High School. I'm so glad we reconnected again when I came back from college. It's such a blessing for me to be able to work with people that I knew from so long ago and old friends. This is such a sweet family! I had such a fun time with you guys.
First off, my friend Taylor is one of the most radiant pregnant women I know. She just glows. I always love photographing these two because they not only love each other so much but because they are two of my friends! I can't wait to meet baby Levi.
I want to live a simple life. One without chaos, distraction and anything that hinders me from being better. I believe in order to begin living simply starts in the mind. It takes redirecting my focus on the important things in my life such as, the Lord, my family and friends, finishing tasks that I've started and doing all of these things day to day. When my mind is focused on too many things and looking too far ahead everything seems to get lost, my thoughts, my sanity and ultimately my purpose. I wanted these photos to be simple, yet beautiful and take you to a different place even if it's just for a couple of seconds to get away from the chaos of your life. Flowers were my inspiration so they were my central focus. They bring so much color and happiness. I chose Shelby to be my model because she has such a distinct beauty I can't even really explain. Her blue eyes seem to pierce you and her delicate features are so striking. She was perfect to stand in the midst of the flowers and vines! For fun I brought along my Holga film camera to try out. I couldn't have been more happy with them being my first shots in over the past two years. My hope is to continually get better. All that to say I hope you enjoy these!
When Brandi contacted me about doing her and Chris's one year anniversary photos as a married couple I was so excited! Brandi and I went to Carson-Newman University together and took some of the same photography classes. I always admired her paintings and photography and her heart to be different. I decided I wanted to be different too after seeing some of the art she produced and do things that inspire people. All that to say, I'm grateful to have gotten to spend time with the two of you and am glad you're still photographing I hope you enjoy these photographs and the bits and pieces of film throughout.
These two were so much fun to work with! I knew I was going to love working with them the moment I met them. They were both kind, easy going and were completely infatuated with each other. I can't wait to be apart of your sweet wedding next spring!

I have known Courtney for 10 years now. She is a good friend of mine from high school and I was so excited to get to photograph her and Michael's engagement photos. Their love for each other is so sweet! I am so blessed to know you Court and Michael! I can't wait for your wedding in September.

Every woman wants to be considered beautiful, right? We want to be like that woman in the song who is noticed when she walks into a room. We want to stand out amongst others, have toned legs, tight stomachs, luxurious hair in the dove commercials and perfect white teeth. Lets face it though the majority of women in the world don't have all of these qualities.
I follow a lot of fitness women on Instagram and they post photographs of themselves working out or in their itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny workout outfit with a six pack and I become discouraged. I think, wow I've been working out for a while now and am not even close to reaching that goal. Let me tell you girls, this thought process will destroy you. I found myself watching work out videos or wanting to workout over spending time in the Word. My mind was slowly shifting from focusing on Christ to focusing on what my body would one day look like if I did so many burpees or push-ups. I was losing sight of the main goal of why I'm here.
Paul exhorted the Church in Philippi saying, "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do : forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:13-14 The goal is Christ and living in a way that points others toward Christ in order that they would be saved. So I asked myself, what does being beautiful look like and how might it point people to Christ?
In scripture a woman isn't rewarded or praised for her physical beauty but rather the characteristics she displays. Given, that doesn't mean you should start dressing frumpy, never wearing make-up and letting your hair be a mess. No, no, no! I love make-up and funky clothing! It is good to look beautiful on the outside so long as it doesn't distract from others knowing Christ first. I have admired many beautiful women who dressed stylish, with make-up and loved Christ with all of that they are, but their characteristics were what set them apart from other beautiful women. I have compiled a list of a few things that set these Godly women apart.
A beautiful woman is:
- Gentle and quiet in spirit. (1 Peter 3:3-4) This is developed through trusting in God. He becomes the focus of our lives and we no longer focus on ourselves but Christ and what He has done.
- Gracious and Honorable. "A gracious woman gets honor, and violent men get riches." Proverbs 11:16. Webster's 1828 dictionary defines gracious as being, Favorable; kind; benevolent; merciful; disposed to forgive offenses and impart unmerited blessings.
- Faithful and Trustworthy. "Even so must their wives be grave, not slanders, sober; FAITHFUL IN ALL THINGS." 1 Timothy 3:11. "The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain." Proverbs 31:11
- A Helper. Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for Him." Genesis 2:18
- Strong, Wise, Kind, Dignified. "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." Proverbs 31:25-26
If you are interested in finding more I encourage you to look into Proverbs 31. You will find that the whole chapter is about what a woman of God looks like! When you become discouraged about your appearance or whether or not you think of yourself as beautiful then turn to the Word. Remember your focus and your purpose. Christ died so that we might live a life for Him. He is gracious and kind and "all who look to Him are radiant, their faces are never covered in shame." (Ps. 34:5). When we focus on Christ He will make us radiant, thus making us beautiful, because He is beautiful.
I will leave you with this quote by Leslie Ludy, "Think about it. A woman who has truly denied herself, taken up her cross, and become entirely consumed with Jesus Christ is not going to be an insecure young woman, starving herself and obsessed with making herself look more attractive. Rather, she's so enraptured with Jesus Christ that she's completely lost sight of herself." (The Lost Art of True Beauty)

My heart is so full to share these photographs with you. Just so you know, I love Florida. These photographs remind me of being out on the farm working with the cows when I was growing up. One of my good friends, Lauren modeled for me this summer. She did a perfect job! I wanted a garden theme, full of color and earthy things.
About a month ago a group of my friends and I went camping around Fort White, FL. It was amazing! We experienced so many fun things such as, going tubing in the springs, being rained out, tents being soaked, bruises, cuts, bites, adventures and random corn fields. My heart and soul couldn't have been happier. Enjoy the photographs. These people have become so much apart of my life and have influenced me in so many ways. Blessed to know them!
Before Joey's girl left for South Carolina he wanted me to take some photos of the two of them. I gladly accepted and off we went into a forest of FL trees. It was a lot of fun. On March 20th, 2014 two sweet people I know signed the papers, exchanged beautiful vows and promised to spend the rest of their lives together. They have an amazing story, hence the reason they got married on 3/20 to represent a verse that says it all. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." I have only heard bits an pieces of how they met and how the Lord strategically brought them together but even hearing just a little will blow your mind away. If you know these two be sure to ask them! :) Enjoy the photographs.
